Dark Walnut, interrupted by light Maple and a flash of Osage Orange.

Composition Board #432 starts with Walnut as its foundation, allowing the natural grain and figuring to establish the movement of the board.

Then the pattern gets interrupted.

Contrasting Maple cuts through the darker Walnut, joined by the unmistakable warm color of Osage Orange. Together, they create deliberate breaks in the Walnut rather than trying to compete with its natural character.

A hole cut into one corner adds another design element to the otherwise straightforward shape while also giving you an easy way to grab or hang the board.

At 14.5" x 10.5", #432 is a versatile size for everyday food prep, slicing, bread, cheese, appetizers, or serving at the table.

What Makes This Board Different

Walnut sets the rhythm of this board.

The Maple and Osage Orange interrupt it.

The lighter Maple creates an immediate contrast against the Walnut, while the Osage Orange introduces a warmer, more unexpected note. The result isn't simply three species joined together—it's a composition built around where one wood stops and another begins.

Even the corner hole becomes part of that composition, adding a small break in the board's outline as well as a practical way to handle or hang it.

The design doesn't cover up what the wood is doing. It gives you another way to notice it.

Made to be used. Made to be seen. Made with the wood as the starting point.

Care

Hand wash only with mild soap and warm water. Do not soak or place in the dishwasher. Dry promptly and allow the board to dry completely before storing. Periodic conditioning with a food-safe board oil will help maintain the wood.
