Two woods. One strong contrast. A shape that does the rest.

Composition Board #434 pairs deep, rich Walnut with warm Osage Orange in a distinctive teardrop-shaped board.

With only two species in the composition, there's nowhere for either wood to hide. The natural darkness of the Walnut plays directly against the brighter Osage Orange, allowing the contrast between the woods to become a defining part of the design.

The board tapers into its teardrop shape, with a hole at the top adding a simple finishing detail to the silhouette.

At 16.5" x 8", #434 has a long, versatile surface that's well suited for serving bread, cheeses, charcuterie, fruit, and appetizers while bringing an unexpected shape to the table.

What Makes This Board Different

Some compositions need several woods to create movement and detail.

This one doesn't.

Walnut and Osage Orange naturally bring enough contrast on their own—the deep tones of one set against the warmth of the other.

Then the teardrop silhouette changes the way you see the entire composition. Instead of designing within a traditional rectangle, the lines of the wood have to work within a shape that narrows and moves.

Two woods provide the contrast. The shape becomes part of the composition.

Made to be used. Made to be seen. Made with the wood as the starting point.

Care

Hand wash only with mild soap and warm water. Do not soak or place in the dishwasher. Dry promptly and allow the board to dry completely before storing. Periodic conditioning with a food-safe board oil will help maintain the wood.
