Composition Board #438 brings together Ambrosia Maple, Purpleheart, White Oak, and Walnut, then adds an Osage Orange weave that moves through the design.

Each wood contributes a different natural color and grain. The lighter tones of the Maple and White Oak contrast with darker Walnut and the distinctive color of Purpleheart, while the Osage Orange creates a brighter line that visually weaves through the composition.

Frank kept the overall shape straightforward: a rectangular serving board with a rounded top and small circular hole. That simple outline gives the more intricate wood composition room to be the focus.

Care

Hand wash only with mild soap and warm water. Do not soak or place in the dishwasher. Dry promptly and allow the board to dry completely before storing. Periodic conditioning with a food-safe board oil will help maintain the wood.
