Composition Board 463: Five-Wood Compact Prep + Travel Board

A smaller board made for the jobs that don't need your biggest cutting board.

I started making these smaller boards with a couple of specific uses in mind: a dedicated board for chopping garlic and onions, or a real wood cutting board that's compact enough to pack when you travel.

Board #463 combines White Oak, Bocote, Maple, English Walnut and Tigerwood in a small composition with plenty of contrast packed into 13 inches. One live edge preserves some of the original character of the wood and keeps the board from feeling too perfectly finished around the edges.

Small enough to tuck away easily. Big enough for the everyday chopping jobs that don't require taking over the counter.

Care

Hand wash only with mild soap and warm water. Do not soak or place in the dishwasher. Dry promptly and allow the board to dry completely before storing.

A small tin of our Chefdude Board Butter is included with every board. Apply periodically to help condition and maintain the wood.
