Small Solid Walnut Board with Live Edges

A small solid-Walnut board that keeps both of its live edges.

I left quite a bit of the original character of the wood in this one.

The board is made from solid Walnut, with two live edges preserving the natural lines of the piece rather than cutting everything into a perfect rectangle. A hole at the top is threaded with knotted rope, adding a simple way to hang the board when it's not being used.

At 1.25 inches thick and 2.3 pounds, it's small but substantial—a useful size for everyday prep, a small serving board, or something to reach for when you don't need a full-size cutting surface.

What Makes This Board Different

The shape didn't need to be made perfectly regular.

Two live edges preserve the natural outline of the Walnut, while the thickness gives this relatively small board more presence than its dimensions might suggest. The knotted rope adds a practical detail that also makes it easy to leave the board hanging where you can see it.

Care

Hand wash only with mild soap and warm water. Do not soak or place in the dishwasher. Dry promptly and allow the board to dry completely before storing.

A small tin of our Chefdude Board Butter is included with every board. Apply periodically to help condition and maintain the wood.
