One solid piece of Walnut. No glue. No joined strips.
Some people simply want to chop on a single piece of wood.
This Walnut chopping block was made with exactly that in mind. Instead of building the surface from multiple pieces, I started with one solid piece of Walnut and let the wood itself become the entire working surface.
The edges have been treated in the Yakisugi style, creating a darkened contrast around the natural Walnut. A wavy front edge keeps the block from feeling overly geometric, while rubber feet give it a stable stance on the counter.
At 1.5 inches thick and 4.3 pounds, it's a substantial block made for everyday chopping and prep.

What Makes This Board Different
There are no contrasting strips or additional species here. The cutting surface is one solid piece of Walnut with no glued joints.
I used the Yakisugi-style treatment around the edges to create contrast without interrupting that solid Walnut surface. The darkened perimeter and wavy front edge give the block its character while leaving the wood itself at the center of the design.
For someone looking specifically for a chopping block made from one uninterrupted piece of wood, that's the point.
Made to be used. Made to be seen. Made with the wood as the starting point.
Care
Hand wash only with mild soap and warm water. Do not soak or place in the dishwasher. Dry promptly and allow the block to dry completely before storing.
A small tin of our Chefdude Board Butter is included with every board. Apply periodically to help condition and maintain the wood.
