Solid oak. Fire-finished edges. Nothing unnecessary. For people who like to chop on one piece of solid wood.
Handmade by Frank for Chefdude Boards, this substantial White Oak board is cut from a single solid piece of wood—no glue and no epoxy.
At a full 2" thick and weighing 5.5 pounds, this isn't a delicate serving board. It has weight, presence, and a clean, uncomplicated design that lets the oak speak for itself.
The edges are finished using the yakisugi method of burning, creating a dark, charred contrast against the natural White Oak. The result is simple but striking: pale oak, blackened edges, and one solid piece of wood.
Measuring 20" × 6.5", its long profile works beautifully for cheeses, cured meats, bread, appetizers, and other serving arrangements. The substantial thickness also gives it a strong architectural presence on a table or countertop.
Frank finishes each Chefdude Board with food-safe fractionated coconut oil, followed by Chefdude Board Butter—a blend of fractionated coconut oil and beeswax—then buffs the wood by hand.
