Spalted Maple + Cherry Apple Board with Maple Weave

A 43-year-old wedding gift, reimagined in Spalted Maple, Cherry and Maple.

When we got married 43 years ago, someone gave us an apple-shaped cutting board. We used it for years, and that board eventually became the inspiration for an apple shape I return to again and again.

This version pairs character-filled Spalted Maple with Cherry and a woven Maple detail through the center. The familiar apple silhouette gives me the starting point; the individual pieces of wood determine what each new version becomes.

At nearly 15 inches tall, it has plenty of room to work as a cutting board while being distinctive enough to use for serving.

Care

Hand wash only with mild soap and warm water. Do not soak or place in the dishwasher. Dry promptly and allow the board to dry completely before storing.

A small tin of our Chefdude Board Butter is included with every board. Apply periodically to help condition and maintain the wood.
