Walnut, Cherry + Maple Apple Board with Spalted Maple Weave

Three familiar hardwoods crossed by a weave with a little more wildness.

Our apple boards trace back to the apple-shaped cutting board we received as a wedding present 43 years ago. I've reimagined that original shape many times since, letting different combinations of wood give each apple its own character.

Here, Walnut, Cherry and Maple create the body of the board, while Spalted Maple becomes the woven detail running through it.

It's a substantial 1-inch-thick board made to work in the kitchen, serve at the table and stay out where you can see it.

What Makes This Board Different

Rather than using the most visually unpredictable wood for the entire board, the Spalted Maple appears in the weave. Its natural markings become a smaller, concentrated detail against the Walnut, Cherry and Maple.

Care

Hand wash only with mild soap and warm water. Do not soak or place in the dishwasher. Dry promptly and allow the board to dry completely before storing.

A small tin of our Chefdude Board Butter is included with every board. Apply periodically to help condition and maintain the wood.
