Walnut, Maple + Cherry Ombré Chopping Block

Three woods arranged to move from light to dark across one substantial chopping block.

This is our take on ombré—made entirely with wood.

I arranged Maple, Cherry and Walnut to create a gradual shift in color across the block, moving from the lighter tones of Maple through the warmth of Cherry and into the deeper color of Walnut.

There’s no stain creating the gradient. The changing color comes from the woods themselves and the way they’ve been arranged.

At 1.8 inches thick and 8.4 pounds, this is a substantial chopping block built for serious kitchen use. The ombré composition gives it another job when the cutting is done: looking pretty good sitting on the counter.

Care

Hand wash only with mild soap and warm water. Do not soak or place in the dishwasher. Dry promptly and allow the block to dry completely before storing.

A small tin of our Chefdude Board Butter is included with every board. Apply periodically to help condition and maintain the wood.
